Irish sports clubs, community groups, national governing bodies of sport and local authorities can now take advantage of the Sports Capital Programme to receive a grant for a defibrillator. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 24 April 2015.
The Sports Capital Programme (SCP) is operated by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and offers grants for sports clubs and community organisations for the development and refurbishment of sports facilities in Ireland. The 2015 programme is now open for applications.
Those who can apply include:
- Voluntary and community organisations and sports clubs
- National governing bodies (NGBs) of sport
- Local authorities
- ETBs and schools (Must make a joint application with a sports club)
The objectives of the Sports Capital Programme is to develop high quality and safe facilities to maximise participation in recreation and sport. Successful applicants can receive funding to invest in safety equipment for their sports facility such as defibrillators.
To apply for funding
To make an application for the programme, an organisation must register at www.sportscapitalprogramme.ie and proceed with the application once successfully registered. Applications can be made online ONLY.
