Would you know what to do in an emergency situation that required lifesaving first aid?
Would you know what to do in an emergency situation that required lifesaving First Aid? That is exactly the predicament that Co Cork man Robert Jenkins, 37 (right) recently found himself in during a tennis match against his opponent Declan Harkin.
Declan, 57 suffered a massive heart attack on the tennis court at Douglas Lawn Tennis Club, Co Cork. Rob who is a firefighter by profession, was at hand to save his life thanks to his First Aid expertise and the fact that the club had a Defibrillator on their premises. Having access to a Defibrillator within the first two minutes following a sudden heart attack can reduce the risk of death by up to 80%. A fact worth considering for any Sport Clubs or premises which involves a level of heavy duty physical activity.
Enrolling in a First Aid course is by far one of the best investments you can make for your family, loved ones or even as our previous story highlights, a complete stranger. You never know when your skills will be called upon to save another’s life.
At Siren Training & Consultancy we offer such training. We specialize in the production of defibrillators and defibrillator training. We operate nationwide and all our courses are run by fully accredited trainers who are qualified and experienced in all areas of First Aid. Get in touch to find out more.
