This Irish Heart Foundation Heart Saver AED course teaches the student the basic techniques of CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator. The course also includes:
- Assisting a choking Adult, Child or Infant
- CPR on Children and Infants
- AED use on children and infants
- Use of CPR pocket mask or barrier device
- Activating Emergency Medical Services
An AED is an important link in the chain of survival and this course teaches you how to use them effectively on all ages of casualties.
Our Heart Saver AED course is a one day course and upon completion each student will receive an internationally recognised American Heart Association pocket sized wallet card which is valid for 2 years.
The Heart Saver AED course is also available as an online option and is delivered in 3 parts.
Part 1 - Online theoretical component which takes approx. 2hrs to complete. This option allows the student complete this section of the course at a time that best suits them and in the comfort of their own surroundings.
Part 2 - Skills Practice. Upon successful completion of part 1 the student will meet with one of our approved AHA Instructors. Our Instructor will demonstrate to the student the skills discussed in Part 1 of the course. This element of the course is approx. 2hr in duration.
Part 3 - Skills Assessment. Upon satisfactory skills practice with our Instructor a skills assessment will be conducted to ensure the student has achieved the appropriate standard of training to be successfully issued with a AHA certificate.
