This course works in association with the Irish Heart Foundation. Our Heart Safe AED course teaches applicants the basic techniques of CPR and skills on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course also covers these topics for children and infants.
An AED is an Automated External Defibrillator. It is a computerised defibrillator which analyses the rhythm of heat beat of a person in cardiac arrest. The system then uses voice prompts to advise you if a shock is required.
As an AED is an important device for resucitating and surviving patients, this course is essential to teach applicants how to use them effectively.
This heart safe AED course is a one day course and upon completion each student will receive an IHF certificate which is valid for 2 years.
